Rental home booking tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Here Comes The Sun Ocean side House Emerald Isle N.C. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
