Getting the best Beaufort rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Fantastic Views! Waterfront w\/Pool, Jacuzzi, Gym, & Steps to the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
