Tips to get the best Havelock rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. AfterDune Shade at Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
