How to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the best rental in the Havelock area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Queens Court 1108, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
