Getting the best Havelock rental experience:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- To find the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Lorelei West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
