Strategies for getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental:
- To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Never Lost in Emerald Isle, NC has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
