Strategies to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. OCEAN FRONT HOME WITH HEATED POOL & HOT TUB INCREDIBLE DISCOUNTS OFF SEASON has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If not, call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
