Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock rental home experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family select dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEANFRONT! NEW listing! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
