Our top Rental home tips:
When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Havelock vacation home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Why Knot Getaway…Rooftop with WaterView! Unit F has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
