Strategies for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Havelock rental:
- First, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View Condo - Ocean View Escape has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
