Finding the best Havelock rental experience:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the best rental:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Front, Game Room, Hot Tub, Elevator - LARGE HOME! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
