Our top Atlantic Beach rental home tips:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront, 1st-Floor Condo with Patio, WiFi, Washer\/Dryer & Shared Pools\/Grills has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
