Tips to get the perfect Beaufort rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Cute cottage within walking distance to historic downtown Beaufort, NC. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
