Booking the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront condo with direct beach access and shared pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
