Atlantic Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting and booking yourrental:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, First-Floor Condo with Lovely View, Balconies, WiFi & Shared Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
