Getting the best vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Indian Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. ONCE UPON A TIDE: Top Floor, Oceanfront, Prime Location, Pool, Linens included has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
