Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Havelock rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront high rise condo, centrally located in Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Havelock destination you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
