Atlantic Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Start by having your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sutton Cottage-Ocean Front Home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
