Emerald Isle rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfect Havelock rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Dolphin Watch East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
