Getting the best Beaufort rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 blocks from Taylors Creek, 1 mile from Beaufort waterfront and boat ramp has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Tips to have a great stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
