Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Southwinds G16 (Ocean View) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
