Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Coastal Soul B- water view and beach access\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
