Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
When to reserve a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fisherman's Paradise - Waterfront Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
