Strategies to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:
- To start, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanside Condo with family friendly amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
