Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Otter Banks Retreat- Sound Front Home in Beaufort, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
