When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pelican's Roost 11, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.

- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective.
