How to book the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Great spot for extended stays! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
