Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Pollock Cottage in Atlantic Beach, NC (Oceanfront) has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the property. - Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
