Makin' Waves is a impressive home that has a classic, opulent feel throughout the entire 3 floors of cavernous gathering spaces and comfortably appointed bedrooms. The exterior also has much to offer, with multi-level covered and uncovered decks on the front and back side all adorned with furnishings for calming and sunbathing. Make watching the sound-side sunset a ritual from the porch swing in the front, and savor vistas of the ocean, as well as the family making memories in the private pool, from the back.
Coming in from the pool deck, there is a ground-level living room, offering a roomy, recreational area to take a break from the sun. There is a huge sectional couch that offers a queen sleeper, entertainment center, ping pong table, card table, and a kitchenette, complete with an ice maker and wine refrigerator. In addition to the outdoor shower on the pool deck, there is a full-sized bath on this level, with an entrance from both the pool deck and just off the kitchenette. This floor includes a laundry room and is where the elevator begins its service.
The second floor can also be known as the bedroom floor. Here you will find a spacious King Suite that has a soaking tub, glass surround shower, and double sinks. There are also 2 bedrooms both with a Queen Bed and private baths. The additional bedroom on this floor is one for the kiddos to appreciate. This bedroom has a twin/twin bunk as well as a full/full bunk bed and uses the bathroom just across the hallway.
As you enter the third floor, be prepared to feel at home. This sizable open floor plan is where you will find the kitchen, dining area, and living room, as well as a home office. For those working remotely, this room is equipped with a enormous sitting desk and a wireless printer. The Master Bedroom fit for a King is on this level as well. The bedroom is furnished with a King Bed, TV filled armoire, and a unique bespoke bathroom complete with soaking tub, standing shower, and separate vanities.

Finding the best rental home experience:
When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanview with elevator, private pool, golf cart, in Dolphin Ridge community has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
