Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Queens Court 3102, Oceanview Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
