Rental home booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Redecorated, Oceanfront, Corner Condo with Balcony & Shared Hot Tub\/Pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
