Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Havelock rental & When to go:
- To find the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sandy Feet Retreat! Wonderful Oceanside Townhome Sunday to Sunday has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
