Vacation rental tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Walk to beach \/ Cozy 3-Bedroom \/Wrap-around deck has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
