Havelock rental home tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your Havelock rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- To start, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. UPDATED Sea-renity WEST near boat ramp has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
