Our top Atlantic Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the right Havelock rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Seaside Villas, 3 story, elevator, garage, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bath. Sleeps 8-10 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
