Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock rental experience:

When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Shell Cottage DOG Friendly in Historic District has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
