Getting the best Beaufort vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation home:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Shell Cottage DOG Friendly in Historic District has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
