How to book the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Indian Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the best rental home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sound-N-Sea Hideaway ~ Ocean Club ~ Salter Path has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
