How to find the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sound Of The Sea West 212, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular Havelock attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
