How to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking the right Havelock rental:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Southwinds D2 Oceanfront Complex has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
