Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Bungalows At The Grove #6, Oceanside House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
