Strategies for getting the perfect Havelock rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Havelock rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. “Spivey’s Korner” Ocean Views, Easy Steps to quiet sandy Beach - secure WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
