Havelock rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and choosing your Havelock rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Welcome to Xanadu East, your home away from home! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
