Our top Emerald Isle rental home tips:
Getting the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sunny, welcoming home, close to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
