Strategies to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Surf\/Break, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Havelock destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
