Our top Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Book your Havelock vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.
How to select the best rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Surf\/Break, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
