Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Havelock rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Beach Hive: Ocean view condo in the heart of Emerald Isle has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
