Tips for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing your prefect Havelock rental home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. OCEANSIDE CONDO WITH GREAT DECK VIEWS has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
