Finding the best Beaufort vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the best rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Blue Chill (Elevator in Unit) in Beaufort, NC has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
