Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Tides In East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
