Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Hunt For The Best, Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Additional considerations:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
