Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Incredible Views - Magnificent Sunsets\nI Little Piece of Heaven\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
